Why are some of us so interested in reptiles?

why are some of us interested in herps than may other animals? it's like we can't just have one lol i'm hoping to own a collection filled with snakes, iguanas, and monitor lizards, etc. and i'm pretty sure plenty of others but how about you want do you want in your collection? and why are we so in to them? can someone please explain? we like them more than any other animal on the planet i.e. dogs, cats, rodents, rabbits/hares, fish, or any other wild or domesticated animals (you get the point!) well at least some of us like reptiles more than others but why? and btw my "main" goal is to become an "Animal Trainer" but being interested in herps lately i'm really considering about being a "Herpetologist" too, what do you think about this idea of mine? but anyways why are we so entertained in keeping exotics like herps and working with them so much? we might as well consider reptiles and amphibians to be considered "Man's Favorite Animal" lol couldn't come up with anything else but actually i'd consider the the "LION" to actually be considered our favorite "wild" animal because a lot of us like them so much than any other wild animal but not everybody does but anyways back to my question: why are we interested in herps so much?
