Is my graphics card shot?

I turned on my computer and the monitor wasn't receiving any signal. I checked the cables and they were all plugged in. When I opened the case the graphics card was receiving power and the fan was on, plus it had slightly heated up as if it were on and working. I tried other cables and monitors but nothing worked. So will I have to get another or is it a different problem.
