Help! Computer troubles!?

Well, a year ago (April 5, 2010) I got a Dell netbook And later that year I steppes on the screen and cracked it (so I just hooked it up to an external monitor). Now, it's slow as HELL when I try go get on the Internet so does anyone have good advice on how do clean up/speed up my crappy computer? Thank you :)
